My favorite part of being a leader is seeing these kids have fun learning and have opportunities they wouldn't have otherwise. If you make the learning fun, they don't even realize that you're teaching them anything, and they'll retain it better. My favorite outdoor activity is simply enjoying camping and spending time outdoors. My son has started hammock camping with me, and I love seeing him experience new things and find things he enjoys.

Why are you a leader?

I have a lot of useful knowledge about the Scouts of old, before we had the technology we have today. I want to pass it along to the next generation so we don’t forget where we came from and to teach them lifelong skills, enabling the next generation of scouts to be productive citizens in our communities.
